In Tokyo, a Lit-Up Grin to Advertise Department Store
By Advertising / IO, 25 Jan 2011
Japanese department store Laforet are using a weird contraption to advertise itself: LED braces that light up teeth when worn.
The braces were designed by Motoi Ishibashi and Daito Manabe, and have become a hit among the Japanese youth, so much so that Laforet decided to appropriate the ‘look’ for a commercial.
When worn, the LED smileys flicker in different colors and speed—both of which can be controlled wireless from a computer app.
