Bagel-Shaped Foreheads, The Latest Body-Modification Trend?
By John Yong, 27 Sep 2012
Some people will do just about anything to stand out in a crowd—some get tattoos, others get piercings—and there are those that get bagel-shaped foreheads.
In National Geographic’s latest episode of ‘Taboo’, it introduced us to ‘Bagel Heads’—an upcoming body modification trend in Japan.
In the video, recipients inject saline solution into their foreheads, causing their foreheads to swell.
After they’ve been ‘filled up’, an indentation is made with the thumb to create the bagel-like effect on the forehead.
However, the effect isn’t permanent—the body will absorb the saline after 18-24 hours.
Would you like a bagel-shaped forehead?
Warning: The video might be quite graphic to some.
