Wendy’s Unveils New Company Logo
By John Yong, 12 Oct 2012
Fast food chain Wendy’s has unveiled a new company logo—a move signaling the company’s plans to transform itself into a higher-end hamburger chain.
Instead of its iconic western ‘signboard’ logo, the company has opted for a more contemporary design—casual red font against a clean white background with an updated image of a ‘Wendy’ floating above.
According to CEO Emil Brolick, he said that the current logo has ‘served the company well for the past three decades’, but it was time for an update.
The Associated Press reports that Brolick wants to the company to be seen as a “top-end” fast food restaurant—with better quality than McDonald’s.
“Our goal is to be a five-star restaurant at a three-star price,” he said.
Besides a new logo, the company will also be renovating its restaurants interior design and providing employees with new uniforms.
The company will start using the updated logo in its restaurants by March 2013.
