Stunning Deep Sea Gallery Captured With Surrealism
By Sarah Lee, 16 Jan 2013
Austrian photographer Andreas Franke has released a new series of deep sea underwater portraits.
Titled ‘Stavronikita Project: The Life Above Refined Below’, it explores the lifestyle of the wealthy during the Rococo era—while using a decaying sunken ship and swarming marine life as its backdrop.
The surreal exhibition can be found at the bottom of the Caribbean, right off the coast of Barbados—attached to the sunken SS Stvronikita with magnets.
The exhibition is opened for viewing—at a depth of 80 feet—through April 2013.
