Mobile 'Public Coffee' Van Aims To Bring Conversation And Coffee Back Together
By Tamara Kisha Tan, 07 Apr 2013
Coffee-lovers in Denver, Colorado will be happy to know that come Summer 2013, there will be a cheerful mobile coffee shop trawling the streets and spreading coffee-joy.
‘Public Coffee’ is a not-for-profit initiative that recently raised enough money to get started, thanks to its 234 backers that helped them raise US$14,100.
Public Coffee hopes to provide an alternative to the prevailing WiFi-laptop-work culture that has creeped into most coffee places. They felt that such an atmosphere took away from how friendly coffee places used to be for customers.
Via their traveling coffee van, they hope to be able to reignite the conversation that traditionally surrounded those having a cuppa together; to encourage patrons to really take the time to get to know their fellow ‘coffee heads.’
Public Coffee will visit four areas of Denver per week, either at the request of patrons or at their own measure.
