3D Projection Technology Makes Museum ‘Disintegrate’, Puts It Together Again
By Thia Shi Min, 29 May 2013
Multi-disciplinary studio Onionlab made the Museum of Art and History in Geneva ‘disintegrate’ and take on various shapes at the 2013 Mapping Festival.
Based in Barcelona, this collective uses 3D projection mapping to interact with the façade of a building, tearing it down and re-building it in various ways.
Aptly titled ‘Evolució’, the group wanted to explore the idea of evolution and how it can be ‘discontinuous’ or inconsistent at times.
This project is not site-specific and can visually disintegrate and re-assemble buildings regardless of location.
