A Personalized Scarf Knitted From Its Wearer’s Brainwave Activity
By Dorothy Tan, 07 Jun 2013
A collaborative project between artists Varvara Guljajeva and Mar Canet, “NeuroKnitting” collects the brainwave activities of individuals and converts them into knitted patterns on scarves.
After recording the affective and cognitive states of the wearer while listening to Bach’s “Goldberg’s Variations”, these brainwave data is uploaded onto "Knitic", an open hardware knitting machine that translates it into unique patterns.
The brainwave activity of each person can be made into several bicolor patterned scarves that visualize their state of mind while listening to music.
Watch the video below to find out more about this wonderful project that lets you wear your brainwaves.
