3D-Printed Prosthetic Leg For Amputee Duck
By Thia Shi Min, 03 Jul 2013
Sometimes technology is able to help in the most unexpected ways, like in the case of Buttercup the duck.
Born with a left foot which faced backward, this duck was handed over to the Feathered Angels Waterfowl Sanctuary where its foot was amputated.
However, thanks to technological advances and the engineers at Novacopy, a mold of the bird’s left foot was printed within 13 hours and attached to its leg.
Buttercup can now walk, and seems pretty happy about this.
