By Thia Shi Min, 05 Jul 2013
Fans of James Bond movies can now rejoice—the Lotus Esprit Submarine, from the movie The Spy Who Loved Me is now up for sale.
This vehicle, kitted out with a 4-cylinder engine and a 2-passenger cabin was built by Perry Oceanographic for the movie, but was placed in storage for 10 years in Long Island after filming was over.
This car, which doubles up as an underwater vehicle, cost US$100,000 to build and could go for millions at the upcoming RM Auction in September.
Known for its excellent handling, the ‘submarine’ can be controlled with its motorized propellers and levered steering controls.
