Artist Paints Human Body To Camouflage Into Natural Surroundings
By Thia Shi Min, 09 Jul 2013
Italian body painter Johannes Stötter paints his subjects so that they blend into nature.
Each work of art is done so well that the viewer is nearly unable to distinguish the human body from nature, apart from a stray eyelid or a vague outline of the lips.
His latest pièce de résistance pushes his skills to the limit—he has painted five individuals in red and green hues, assembling each person so that the entire “human sculpture” resembles a frog.
In doing so, perhaps Stötter wants to show that humanity and nature are not so different after all.
