Cleverly Arranged Plates Of Food Represent 20th Century Design Movements
By Dorothy Tan, 26 Jul 2013
For the first issue of UK food and culture journal Gourmand, art director Jamie Brown created a charming photo spread featuring specially-arranged plates of food that represent various design movements of the 20th century.
A creative way to link food with design, each piece of food art is carefully positioned to relate to a certain design philosophy founded in the last century—the result is both interesting and eye-catching.
Photographed against hand-cut paper tablecloth backgrounds, these images prove that food can make for great visual inspiration, if one just “plays” with them a little.
How many 20th century design movements can you identify? See more of these fun food art below.
