Japanese Startup Makes 3D-Printed Mini Figurines Of Your Loved Ones
By Loke Shi Ying, 27 Jul 2013
Japan-based startup Fotofig has started a special 3D printing service that allows you to create mini figurines of your friends and loved ones.
This novel and ingenious service allows you remember your children as they are growing up, or your friends and family at a particular time in life.
At present, using this service is a manual affair. You first have to send photos of the object or person that you want to be made into a figurine, and the company makes a lookalike mini figurine out of that.
Priced between $400 to $600 per figurine, the service itself is not cheap but definitely a memorable item to have.
Overall, it is a great novelty to remember your friends and loved ones by mini figurines—before the moment passes!
