House Number Plaques Placed At Public ‘Sleeping Areas’ For The Homeless
By Kelly Koo, 29 Oct 2013
The Salvation Army of Canada worked with advertising agency Cossette for its new campaign to aid the homeless, reminding the public that homelessness is still a pressing issue in Canada.
For the campaign, ‘house number’ plaques were fixed on public locations that were used frequently as makeshift rest-stops by the homeless, such as park benches and bus stops.
Each plaque contained the message “No One Should Have To Call This Home”, followed by a number to text donations to the Salvation Army.
“The problem with homelessness is that it’s often easy to ignore. We wanted to jolt the public by putting messages in places—and in a manner—that would surprise them,” explained Cossette’s co-chief creative officer Matt Litzinger.
