Cronut Creator Reinvents Classic ‘Cookies & Milk’ With Delicious New Dessert
By Dorothy Tan, 07 Mar 2014
Having Oreo cookies with milk is a childhood snack that you may be familiar with. However, NYC-based French pastry chef Dominique Ansel, best known as the creator of the famous Cronut, first tasted this delicious treat just a few weeks ago.
Inspired by his experience of dunking an Orea in milk, he has created a brilliant new dessert that mashes up milk and chocolate chip cookie into one—Ansel has named it the “Chocolate Chip Cookie Milk Shot”.
Molding extra-aerated dough into the shape of a shot glass, he was able to create a crispy and moist receptacle that is used to hold a mouthful of cold milk.
As Ansel playfully quipped, “You don’t have to be 21 to have one.”
The creative chef has made this dessert specially for SXSW that would be taking place in Austin, Texas, this weekend—we do hope that he would be offering it at his NYC bakery too!
