Elegant & Minimalist Swiss-Style Posters Of Iconic Films
By Jillian Wong, 09 Apr 2014
Graphic design website Swiss Style Design has a collection of elegant and minimalist posters of iconic films.
The posters are designed in the vein of the International Typographic Style, also known as the Swiss Style. It is a graphic design style that originated in Switzerland in the 1950s, and emphasizes “cleanliness, readability and objectivity.”
Characteristics include “asymmetric layouts, use of a grid, sans-serif typefaces like Akzidenz Grotesk, and flush left, ragged right text.”
Some of the reinterpreted posters include classics like 2001: A Space Odyssey, The Shining, Reservoir Dogs and Taxi Driver.
Check out some of the posters below and follow Swiss Style Design to keep up with the series. Do you have a favorite design?
