Captivating Images That Have Been ‘Tortured’ By Glitches
By Wan Munirah, 17 Sep 2014
Photographer and visual artist Sabato Visconti’s photographs might look like unfortunate accidents with its odd glitches, but you will grow to appreciate the unexpected aesthetic presented in his work.
In an interview with Re:Form, Visconti said that his work with glitch photography is akin to “torturing an image”.
To create the dizzying array of patterns in his photographs, Visconti used readily available glitch applications like Pixel Drifter. Sometimes, he painstakingly sorted out the pixels himself through coding.
“You get an idea more or less of what you’re going to get, but you can’t really predict it. And that’s part of the charm — you don’t have control over what you’re doing…” said Visconti.
