Vladimir Putin & Kim Jong-Un Cat Scratching Posts To Protest Cyber Censorship
By Tay Xing Wei, 23 Sep 2014
To help raise internet censorship awareness, Hide My Ass!, a virtual private network that allows users to access blocked content worldwide, has created cat scratching posts in the likeness of Russia’s president Vladimir Putin and North Korea’s supreme leader Kim Jong-Un.
The 45.7cm tall scratching posts, which are 3D-printed and made of durable rope, took a team of artists over 200 hours to complete.
The Pussycat Riot, a protest movement that aims to “unite the cats of the world and their owners in opposition to cyber censorship” calls the product “a one-of-a-kind protest product and the ultimate feline satirical statement”.
The scratching posts can be purchased here at £4,500, with all proceeds going to international organization Index on Censorship.
