Ever since crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter and Indiegogo burst onto the internet, people have been taking to them to fund their sometimes ludicrous ideas—remember the guy who raised a ridiculous amount of money for a simple potato salad?
Director Jena Friedman has created a hilarious ad for fictional website WorkHarder.com that pokes fun at such crowdfunding websites.
Described as a “way of life” that has “totally disrupted the landscape of other global crowdfunding platforms”, it urges you to work harder instead of asking people to donate to your project.
The website works by using the power of “public shaming tools”—it links to your social networks to collect brutal, honest feedback from friends and family to discourage you from pursuing your terrible idea.
