A Designer Who Uses Her Nose Instead Of Her Hands To Do Her Work
By Dorothy Tan, 02 Jan 2015
Designer Michelle Vandy has a very unusual way of creating her designs—instead of using her hands, she uses her nose and lips to create her work on a trackpad.
Earlier in her career, a period of over-working left her with fingers that hurt when she designs on the computer—to continue doing what she loves, Michelle developed a device, consisting of Manfrotto 492 table tripode, the Apple Magic Trackpad and a tripod adapter plate, which allows her to design with her nose.
After much practise, she was able to achieve the same level of accuracy with her nose and lips as with her hands—according to the designer, she uses her “nose-pad” 50% of the time on a typical day.
Michelle has created a video that shows how she works with her nose—watch it below.
Do you think you would be able to work without your hands like her? Scroll down, or head over here, to view some of her designs that were created with this unconventional method.
