Artist Uses Unwanted Clothing Labels To Create Amazing Animal Portraits
By Yap Yen, 18 Feb 2015
Using unwanted clothing labels from charity shops, Joy Pitts creates portraits of animals, including a rabbit, bull, goose and some cows.
The artist from Nottingham, UK, was commissioned by designer Paul Smith in 2013 to create a rabbit made from Paul Smith clothing labels. Her final product was a purple and red bunny that required up to 2,000 labels, made from a palette of labels that was specially sent to Pitts from the designer.
Her work is going on exhibition at the Lace Market Gallery from 23 April to 13 May 2015, and at The Lally Gallery at the Erewash Museum from 11 September to 30 October 2015.
