Photographer Takes Magnificent Self-Portraits With The Northern Lights
By Valerie Chang, 29 May 2015
“Cold vast emptiness but something so beautiful,” wrote Finnish photographer Tiina Törmänen.
With the above description of her photo series ‘Wanderer’, Törmänen creatively juxtaposed herself and the majestic backdrop of infinite stars and the Northern lights.
A series of stunning self-portraits resulted, showing how minute an individual really is compared to the vast universe.
She stated: “First, I was thinking to shoot only landscapes but without the human element there is nothing to compare, no trees or buildings in distance, so I took pictures to give more feeling of the space out there.”
“In the end we are so small and fragile in this huge cosmic buzz. People should remember that and act more with love in general.”
Check out some of Törmänen’s brilliant shots below and more over here.
