This Tiny, Origami Bug-Like Robot, Assembles, Swims, Walks By Itself
By Melissa Goh, 01 Jun 2015
MIT researchers have created a tiny origami-like robot that looks like a bug and can fold into shape, walk, and swim all by itself.
Made from layers of magnet and PVC, the robot is able to assemble itself in under a minute, through heat that causes its body to contract.
It can also carry a load that is twice its weight, burrow through a stack, and dissolve completely in acetone.
Click play to watch the robot in action.
