Marvel’s ‘All-New’ Universe Promises Female Wolverine, New Hulk And More
By Yap Yen, 05 Jun 2015
Following the recent success of The Avengers: Age of Ultron, the creators of the superhero franchise are introducing big changes to the characters and creating new, easy entry points for new readers.
The “All-New All-Different Marvel” that is set to launch this fall will take a look at what happens eight months after the summer-long series, Secret Wars. This will see the entire Marvel Comics line with 55 to 60 new titles, all beginning at issue one and roll out over a period of several months.
This new beginning marks an evolving, almost seasonal way of looking at comics publishing. Although no specific details have been released, the new line will feature popular writers like Brian Michael Bendis, Jason Aaron and Mark Waid, among others.
The new Marvel Universe promises character shake-ups, with women and minorities taking up the roles of heroes that have long been white males. These include three recently introduced female characters—Spider-Gwen, Muslim teenager Kamala Khan or Ms. Marvel, and the new female Thor.
