Designer Asks Clients To Hire His Future Self For A Project In 10 Years Time
By Dorothy Tan, 09 Jul 2015
London-based freelance designer and illustrator Michael Lester, who created ‘the world’s smallest portfolio’, embarked on a creative project that allows you to hire the future him for a project in 10 years time.
Created in response to D&AD 2015 New Blood / WeTransfer brief to “celebrate the person you'll be in 10 years time”, the ‘Hire (The Future) Me’ project consists of a promotional website that highlights the various professions—including public speaking, product design, writing and animation—that Lester hopes to excel at in a decade.
Interested clients can download and fill out a form to engage the designer’s services for a project in 2025. If he accepts the offer, you would receive a colorful illustrated I.O.U that entitles you to a service—for instance, one presentation—that is to be redeemed between 1 Jan 2025 and 31 December 2025.
Watch the project’s video showcase below, or head over here to find out more—the project has since won a D&AD New Blood Pencil.
