The Firefox Web Browser Gets A Refreshing Material Design Makeover
By Dorothy Tan, 29 Jul 2015
Based in Bangalore, India, design student Abilash Lobo was curious about what the Mozilla Firefox web browser would look like if the principles of Google’s ‘Material Design’ is applied to it.
He proceeded to give the popular web browser a makeover that is guided by Material Design philosophy—the result is a refreshing change from the brand’s official identity, and provides a fresh perspective from which to reimagine its familiar functions.
For instance, Lobo created a simple startup animation that greets you when you first open up the browser, a handy animated menu that will fade in and fade out as needed and a clever close button that only appears when you hover over the website’s icon on the tab.
Find out more about this interesting redesign project here—do you think this is an improvement, or do you prefer the original design?
