Agency Creates A GPS That Switches To Child’s Voice When Near Schools
By Winona Wee, 14 Aug 2015
Creative agency Forman & Bodenfors has found a novel way to make people pay attention while on the road.
Created for If Insurance, the agency created a GPS app that is capable of switching to a child’s voice when the driver is near schools, day-care centers, and even playgrounds.
The rationale behind switching the navigator to a child’s voice in children-centric areas is that adults are programmed to care for children. When an adult listens to a child giving them directions, it has an immediate visceral effect on them and reminds them that there are children to protect in the area.
Currently, the child-voice navigation feature of the app is available in Sweden, Finland and Norway. The app is available in both the App Store and on Google Play in these countries.
