We recently featured Gunnar Gafors, the 37-year-old man who has visited every country in the world without quitting his job.
Garfors has shared with Business Insider the three most essential things he would always carry with him when he is traveling around the world.
A printed-out itinerary is safer than carry your electronic devices around.
Garfors pointed out that if locals in poorer countries see a foreigner walking around with expensive phones, iPad, or laptop, they tend to charge you higher for a certain service or product, and others might even try to rob you.
A small note pad helps when you encounter people who don’t speak English.
When Garfors met people who doesn’t speak his language, he would draw what he is trying to say. He recalls his experience in Iran, “I had to draw my dinner in order to get served, and I'm a horrible drawer. I had chicken for me, and a cow for my brother, and we actually got served what I managed to draw”.
Head over here to find out what the other must-have item is, and why these simple items have become essentials in Garfors’ journey around the world.
