‘Kidlife Crisis’, Other Brilliantly Combined Words Invented In The Toilet
By Louise Jane Cher, 01 Sep 2015
Some of the best ideas are made in the toilet.
Belgian ad agency FRIENDSHIP has created ‘Portmanteauilet’, a word game that encourages employees to create new words on the toilet.
Employees are asked to create new portmanteau words by combining two words to form new ones, such as “Brunch” or “Cronut”.
Some ingenious words that have come about include “Kidlife Crisis”, a play on midlife crisis but when you have kids, and “Realations”, which refers to the people you knew before Facebook.
According to FRIENDSHIP, the game was invented “because we have no WiFi in our toilet so we can't scroll anywhere”. It also helps that the game of wordplay keeps employees inspired with new ideas.
Best of all, the creator of the funniest portmanteau word each month receives an extra day off, which is also known as a “freeday”.
