New IKEA Pillow Uses Shredded Old IKEA Catalogs As Cushion Filling
By Yap Yen, 01 Sep 2015
The latest IKEA pillow designed by Charles Kaisin uses shredded paper from old IKEA catalogs as filling.
Drawing from the cellulose molecule that is the natural raw material of paper pulp, Kaisin took the recycling approach further to utilize the old IKEA catalogs in this product called ‘KÜSS’, or the Inspirational Pillow.
Customers can drop their old catalogs at all Belgian IKEA stores on 12 September 2015 and IKEA will pass the collected pages through the shredder, which will in turn become cushion filling for ‘KÜSS’.
The project was created by DDB Brussels and is also used to announce the new IKEA catalog.
