Courageous Woman Stands Blindfolded In A Bikini To Promote Body Acceptance
By Winona Wee, 10 Sep 2015
In an effort to spread body acceptance and self-love, Amy Pence-Brown decided to conduct a social experiment that involved her wearing a bikini and permitting strangers to draw hearts on her body while she remained blindfolded.
The founder of the Boise Rad Fat Collective was inspired by a project by The Liberators International in Australia, who put out a similar video to challenge mainstream media’s beauty standards.
Amy stood blindfolded in a market in Boise, Idaho with a sign that reads, “I’m standing for anyone who has struggled with a self-esteem issue like me, because all bodies are valuable. To support self-acceptance, draw a heart on my body”.
The public engaged with overwhelming positivity and left many heart-warming messages on her body. Some even hugged Amy and gave her kisses on the cheek.
