Simplistic Rebranding Of KFC Goes Back To Its Vintage, Homely Roots
By Louise Jane Cher, 02 Oct 2015
New York City-based design studio Grand Army has redesigned the brand identity and packaging of fast food chain Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC). It is a graphic throwback to their original bucket design, with a clean, modern twist.
It features KFC’s iconic red and white bars, that are reminiscent of classic American diners. The redesign has been applied to the various aspects of the brand, from packaging materials to its signage and their website.
The Colonel Sanders icon has also been simplified–the tilted square background has been removed, and its placement on the bucket is similar to the original design.
With this redeign, Grand Army hopes to reinforce KFC’s simplistic, yet unmistakable brand image that has lasted through the years.
