Watch: A Soccer Ball That Harnesses Energy From Play To Light Up A Village

Looking to solve real world problems with a fun approach, New York-based entrepreneur Jessica O. Matthews conceptualized a soccer ball, The Soccket, in 2008 that has the capabilities to harness energy from play to light up a connected LED lamp.
Building a company, Uncharted Play, that seeks to offer products of social invention inspired by outdoor activities, Matthews and her team have since released the The Pulse in addition to The Soccket, which adopts a similar energy-fueled concept, but in the form of jump ropes.
