A Game Boy Redesign Concept That Blends Old Elements With New Functions
By Aqila Xiao Qi, 18 Nov 2015
Paying tribute to the original Game Boy debuted in 1989, German freelance graphic designer and illustrator Florian Renner has designed an exciting concept of the classic handheld console that blends its old-school aesthetic with the modern functions found in current games.
Named the ‘Nintendo GAME BOY 1up’, the redesigned concept features a rectangular interface and a replacement of the old buttons with new rotating knobs, allowing for bigger graphics and improved user control while upholding the beloved vintage design of the earliest Nintendo model.
