Photographer Turns Naked Models Into ‘Star Wars’ Characters Using Milk (NSFW)
By Yoon Sann Wong, 21 Dec 2015
If these photos by Barcelona-based photographer Manu Cabañero remind you of Jaroslav Wieczorkiewicz’s sexy pinup-inspired photos of girls wearing ‘clothes’ made of milk and colorful liquid splashes, that is because Cabañero’s latest Star Wars-themed collection was, in fact, inspired by the aforementioned London-based photographer.
Cabañero’s series ‘Splash Wars’ comprises milk-splashed characters Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader from the blockbuster film franchise.
The meticulous process involved significant preparation time, two to three hours of photographing and post-production involving more time than the actual photo shoots.
“It was magic and I wanted to make that magic,” says Cabañero about Wieczorkiewicz’s work.
Using the London photographer’s work as a reference helped Cabañero “show [his] models what [he wanted] to reach.”
“Although it’s an exhausting project it’s very satisfying when you see that the result is what you wanted,” Cabañero explained.
He plans to continue with the series and provided advice to other photographers who aspire to try this technique.
“Do it!! You can do whatever you want. The most important thing is to put passion on your work. I think that the trial and error method is the key of this type of photography technique.”
