Quirky Japanese Home Boasts ‘Floating Floors’ That Are Accessed Via Ladders
By Yoon Sann Wong, 12 Jan 2016
This 750-square-foot house in Japan features an unconventional design that has its owners, couple Tatsumi Terado and his wife Hanae, accessing the various ‘floating floors’ via ladders.
Hiroyuka Shinozaki Architects designed this quirky abode that was originally called ‘House T’. The couple however, has taken to using the informal name ‘Ninja House’ as they have learnt to become more nimble traveling up and down the ladders.
The design team stripped away the home’s interior walls to maximize space and optimize lighting.
