Striking Brand Identity Spins Like A Slot Machine, Creates Endless Combinations

Inspired by the pace of digital technology’s constant evolution, graphic artists Craig & Karl created a fun, whimsical visual identity for Folk, a Finnish content funding platform.
Using mismatched letters, their fun, eye-catching visual identity spins like a slot machine revealing countless permutations. This choice to have a constantly changing identity, allows users to see it fresh and new each time.
According to Craig Redman, of Craig & Karl, they aimed to establish identity through color and proportion rather than a set logotype. Keeping the same color palette across the whole package would allow the overall identity to be read as being part of the same brand even though the letterforms constantly changed.
