Take A Look At This Creative Agency’s Stylish Induction Box For New Employees
By Yoon Sann Wong, 21 Jan 2016
Making new hires feel welcomed at their workplace can only be a good thing. Similar to previous moves by Facebook and Ogilvy & Mather, creative experiential agency Guild–which has three studios across NYC, LA and Portland–has put together a sleek introduction box for its fresh faces.
Set to help recipients adjust to life at Guild as smoothly as possible, the ‘New Hire Box’ comprises a collection of practical tools: a notebook to pen down important notes and keep track of new names; a coffee mug to hold that vital daily dose of caffeine; two pencils; tape measure; key fob; USB jumpdrive that contains HR-related information, digital copies of paperwork for new hires, maps of the campus and recommended places to eat; and a Guild shirt.
Chief Operating Officer Daniel Ordower explained, “It’s very cliché, but it’s also very true…you never have a second chance to make a good first impression. Guild’s employees are the company’s most valuable assets, so welcoming new team members from the moment they walk in is vital to creating a long and productive relationship. The new hire box allows us to start the on-boarding process with a tangible and visual expression of Guild's core values–collaboration, communication, curiosity and most importantly–creative problem solving.”
