Fun, Jenga-Like Game Involves Stacking Geometric Animals In Creative Ways
By Yap Yen, 01 Feb 2016
This new game is like a trippy animal version of Jenga.
To play ‘Fabulous Beasts’, one to five players take turns to add animals onto a balancing tower. The game simultaneously interacts with a digital landscape on a tablet or smartphone, with their unique sensing platform that becomes your “digital ecosystem”. Players will be essentially building new worlds with each geometric-shaped pieces they carefully balance on top of each other. When the tower collapses, the game is over.
Inspired by a desire to create a game that was accessible to all ages, ‘Fabulous Beasts’ is created by an experienced team of game designers, artists, and engineers which include Alex Fleetwood of design studio Hide&Seek and George Buckenham of Wild Rumpus.
The complex shapes of each animal piece and the diverse range of towers they can produce make the game stand out, after a year of play-testing and development. The companion digital app is compatible with Android and Apple smartphones and tablets.
