Striking Largescale Murals Capture Power Of Wildlife With Beautiful Fluidity
By Yap Yen, 24 Feb 2016
The street art of Portuguese artist Antonio Correia, better known as Pantonio, intentionally inserts the wildness of nature into otherwise gritty urban environments.
His huge murals of flocks of birds, rabbits, fish and other wildlife evoke the fluidity, strength and pure energy of nature. His stylized forms of animals are colored in black and blue lines, a stark contrast on the static urban landscape.
Correia’s works can be found all over the world, from Portugal to China and Canada. His work in the 13th arrondissement in Paris is considered one of Europe’s largest murals, measuring 66 meters high and 15 meters wide.
