Mod 140-Square-Foot Micro-Apartment Model Tackles Affordable Student Housing
By Yoon Sann Wong, 26 Feb 2016

The University of British Columbia has come up with a prototype to address the issue of affordable student housing.
The ‘Nano Studio’ is a 140-square-foot micro-apartment that boasts a stylish interior with basic amenities provided such as bed, kitchen, bathroom and desk area.
The bed can be folded up for access to the desk space. The kitchen includes a counter top, small fridge and cooking area as well as sink.
The university is currently garnering feedback on the model unit and plans to build 70 of these suites as part of the pilot project.
At time of writing, rental price per month will range between $675 and $695.
