Strong Rivals To Photoshop, ‘Affinity Photo’ & ‘Designer’, Coming To Windows
By Yoon Sann Wong, 16 Mar 2016
Last year, creative apps ‘Affinity Photo’ and ‘Affinity Designer’ were launched for Mac users to great success.
‘Affinity Photo’ clinched Apple’s ‘Best Mac App of 2015’, while ‘Affinity Designer’ won an ‘Apple Design Award’ in June 2015.
Over the upcoming months, Affinity aims to launch Windows-friendly versions for both apps, comprising identical features to their Mac-specific counterparts.
Ashley Hewson, Serif's Managing Director, explained in a press release:
“Pretty much any article, blog or social post about our Affinity apps now seems to attract a rush of comments from users asking why we don’t make them available on Windows.”
“Well, I’m really excited to finally reveal we are working on it and the development team are making incredibly rapid progress.”
“We already have an early build of Affinity Designer running on our PCs in the office here, and we will be making it available as a free public beta early in the summer.”
The purchase price of Affinity’s apps for Windows will match that for Mac– US$49.99/€49.99/£39.99 with no subscription.
