Remarkable Tubular Glass House Wraps Around A Single Tree
By Yoon Sann Wong, 22 Mar 2016
Imagine living in a four-storey glass house surrounded by the beauty and tranquility of the surrounding natural landscape.
This is respite boasted by ‘Tree in the House’–an architectural structure designed by Almassov of A. Masow Architects.
The design was first conceived in 2013 but construction was impeded after an initial investor of the project pulled out.
Fortunately, a glass and solar panel manufacturer has expressed interest in the endeavor, suggesting that ‘Tree in the House’ could soon become a reality.
The tubular glass house provides its residents with solitude from bustling city life. Its glass façade offers refreshing 360-degree views of the encircling landscape.
“We wanted to combine the capabilities of modern industrial design [with the] wealth and beauty [of the natural landscape],” explained Almassov, “…more importantly it doesn’t harm [the] environment…this is an opportunity to escape from the sweltering concrete boxes and feel the present unity with nature.”
While the renderings feature the residence in a woodland clearing, the project is not confined to any particular location.
