‘World’s First’ Artificial Gills Allows You To Breathe Effortlessly Underwater
By Yap Yen, 22 Mar 2016

We have seen gadgets in films like James Bond to Star Wars that have allowed humans to breathe underwater without the use of heavy scuba equipment. This innovative artificial gills lets users breathe easy underwater.
The ‘Triton’ works like fish gills, containing artificial gills called Microporous Hollow Fiber, combined with a modified lithium-ion battery that works with a modified dual micro compressor that allows users to swim for up to 45 minutes and dive up to 15 feet without any dive equipment.
It works the same way as a snorkel, where users gentle bite into the mouthpiece, breathe normally, and enjoy the next 45 minutes of freedom underwater. The Microporous Hollow Fiber contains threads with holes that are smaller than water molecules so that they keep the water out and let oxygen in.
Watch the video below or visit their Indiegogo campaign for more details. With just over a month left on their campaign, the team has already raised 778% of their target.
