Brilliantly Animated Typeface Uses Bicycle Components To Complete Each Letter
By Melissa Goh, 31 Mar 2016
London-based CG and motion designer Marcel Piekarski has created a sleek typeface called ‘Type-Cycle’, which completes letters of the alphabet with different bicycle parts.
Using Cinema 4D and After Effects, the three-dimensional letters are brilliantly animated to showcase the various bicycle components. Piekarski explained, “From a technical point of view, modeling the bicycle parts was the hardest. You can see all the little details in the breakdown (where all the parts lay on the floor)”.
Piekarski started the idea of this project with the letter B, where he mixed the wheels to part of the letter structure to form the typeface.
