IKEA Collaborates With A Fashion Designer To Create Psychedelic Home Products
By Melissa Goh, 27 Apr 2016
IKEA recently collaborated with menswear fashion designer Katie Eary to come up with a set of whimsical products for the ‘Giltig’ collection.
The new collection of dinnerware, furniture, and textiles are covered in the London-based designer’s signature patterns. It features a set of dishes printed with vibrant fish and cats, a cushion cover with eyeballs and brains patterns, a cooking apron in blood-red dentures, and more.
The Swedish furniture giant company approached Eary to design a collection that would appeal to the male audience. She explained that the collection is inspired by her younger brothers and the film Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas starring Johnny Depp.
The limited edition collection is available from April 2016, and there will be more collaborations with other designers in the near future.
