High-Tech Gardening Pod Lets You Monitor Homegrown Vegetables Via A Smartphone
By Melissa Goh, 28 Apr 2016

‘Foop’ is a high-tech home gardening pod that lets you grow vegetables indoors, and control its environment through your smartphone.
Its name is a mashup of “food” and “people”, which aptly represents the pod’s purpose of drawing the gap between freshly homegrown produce with urbanites. The hydroponic agriculture kit lets you grow plants like lettuce, parsley, arugula, basil and shiso.
The pod’s minimalist design comes with a wooden housing and a small display that will let you know about its temperature, humidity, light and water levels.
It can be synced to the Foop app, where you can make adjustments to its environmental conditions. The app also notifies you when your vegetables are ready for consumption.
The brilliant kit can be preordered here, and it is priced at 38,8000 yen, approximately US$360.
