Man Creates Homemade Rideable Hoverbike That Flies, Shoots Fireworks
By Yoon Sann Wong, 29 Apr 2016
YouTuber and creator Colin Furze is back with his first flying invention, the hoverbike.
Built using several parts supplied by Ford, his hoverbike is powered by two motorized propellers that lifts it several feet off the ground–an impressive feat considering its Furze’s first attempt.
The machine however is still in need of work–installing a seat, brakes and having it steerable make for a few things on the to-do list.
Furze explained to Mashable, “[The project’s] been going on over the past three months, but maybe only four to five weeks have been spent on it as I spent a lot of time waiting for parts like the propellers.”
Flying the machine was no easy task. It took the creative four sessions before he managed to get a hang of the machine. “It’s all on getting the engines running the same speed and how you position yourself.”
See Furze put the hoverbike in action below, complete with fireworks towards the end because, why not?
We previously featured Furze’s other crazy inventions including his Wolverine claws, a flame shooter that transforms the wearer into ‘Pyro’ from X-Men and a bread knife that slices and toasts concurrently.
