Affinity Designer Unveils Powerful New Tools Useful For Website Mock-Ups, UIDs
By Yoon Sann Wong, 08 Jun 2016
Earlier this year, Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer announced their foray into Windows.
Now, Affinity Designer has announced software updates for its Version 1.5 that include new features ‘Constraints’ and ‘Symbols’. These tools are especially useful for people working on user interface designs and mock-ups of websites.
‘Constraints’ enables users to regulate the size and position of an object relative to its container. This allows the reuse of elements and the ability to view them performing in a pseudo-responsive manner.
As for ‘Symbols’, this feature creates multiple instances of the same object, where editing one object will alter all the rest simultaneously.
Ashley Hewson, Managing Director at Serif–the company behind the Affinity apps–explained in a press release, “This is something we think is pretty unique to Affinity Designer. We’re super excited to get it out to users.”
Version 1.5 will be released in beta later this month. Its full version can be downloaded via the App Store in August.
The updates will also be included in the beta version of Affinity Designer for Windows, slated to debut end June.
