This Hoodie That Gives You Soothing Massages Is Now On Kickstarter
By Sophia Hyder, 22 Jun 2016
We previously talked about ‘AiraWear’, a smart hoodie that gives you back and shoulder massages.
The ‘AiraWear’ has nubs in its inflatable pads positioned along your shoulders and back, which presses into your muscles like a massage chair or therapist would use, and connects to a smartphone app for you to control it. The hoodie has a battery life of three hours and is charged via USB.
Mashable gave the hoodie a test run, and found that its ‘massages’ can get pretty powerful.
The downsides of the ‘AiraWear’ is that its nubs cannot move in a circular motion or vibrate. When in use, the hoodie also produces a hissing noise and the inflatable pads makes you look like you have a hunchback.
Last time we checked, the hoodie had just passed its design and prototyping phase. Now, it’s moved onto Kickstarter to fund the project. It currently has over 1,000 and has surpassed its goal of $75,000.
The hoodie is expected to be released in November 2016, and it will retail at $249.
