Every day, we are inundated with images of flawless perfection on social media that inevitably piles on the pressure for each of us to live a life that others can also label ‘#goals’.
It’s easy to feel small when it seems that everyone else around you is living a perfect life, but British designer and retailer Wren Kitchens aims to turn this around with its new campaign titled ‘A Kitchen Lived In: Perception vs Reality’.
The campaign aims to lift the pressure off parents who feel compelled to have a perfect family, enlisting the help of parenting bloggers to reveal the chaos that hides behind a beautiful façade on social media. The photos reveal crying babies, spilled flour, a generally messy kitchen and other less-than-immaculate aspects of life that are immensely relatable yet often concealed online.
Hopefully this campaign really will alleviate some of the social pressures for parents to present an image of a picture-perfect family. It’s a good reminder to everyone to simply relax and have fun, because perfection–as proven in the photos below–is merely an illusion.
